The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Structural Engineer to assist our Adelaide based team who has a desire to progress in their career and develop into a specialist in the field. This role provides an opportunity to work with other Engineers including Senior and Principal Engineers and contribute to the growth of the structural capability and infrastructure teams within Tonkin. Our ideal candidates would have 2 to 5 years’ experience in structural engineering and be comfortable in producing technical outputs and working with other disciplines.

Who You Are:

• A passionate and proactive team player with excellent communication skills (written and verbal).

• A technical problem-solver with a strong foundation in structural engineering, particularly for infrastructure and industrial projects.

• Enthusiastic about working on a variety of projects across different sectors.

What You Bring:

• Relevant qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in an Engineering discipline (e.g., Civil, Structural).

• 2-5 years of professional experience in structural engineering, ideally within a consulting environment.

• Demonstrated experience in concrete and steel design/analysis for industrial and infrastructure projects.

• Strong ability to communicate complex engineering concepts clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.

• Efficient multi-tasker with a fundamental understanding of project delivery processes.

• Experience with relevant Australian Standards (AS1170, AS3600, AS4100, AS5100).

• Proficiency in structural design software such as SpaceGass, RAPT, SLB, Etabs, and Revit.

Bonus Points:

• Experience leading the delivery of engineering projects.

• Ability to work directly with clients and subconsultants.

• Project management, commercial acumen, and time management skills.

What You'll Do:

• Apply your technical expertise to design and analyse bespoke and diverse concrete and steel structures.

• Provide inputs to other engineers and drafters in producing high-quality structural outputs.

• Collaborate seamlessly with other disciplines to ensure project coordination.

• Deliver well-documented designs, including drawings, specifications, and reports, meeting Tonkin's and client standards.
