At Firedoor, we work intuitively with fire and seasonal ingredients. Firedoor is the only fire-powered restaurant in Australia, and quite possibly the most unique. Situated in the back streets of Surry Hills, chef Lennox Hastie works instinctively with fire and ingredient, creating a seasonally-driven menu daily to showcase the natural beauty of wood fired cooking.
The kitchen is entirely powered by wood and everything is cooked to order. We burn a variety of woods daily to create embers which are then used to cook in a way that enhances the natural characteristics of the ingredients.
Our kitchen is open-plan, allowing guests a clear view of the action which unfolds in the kitchen. It is important for us to invite diners into our world and show them how simple cooking can be, and how good ingredients can become great ingredients when grilled over a wood fire. Chef and owner, Lennox Hastie is fascinated by fire; his dedication and uncompromising approach has established Firedoor as an eating experience unlike anything else in town.

What we are looking for
2+ years experience in a management role in a fine dining restaurant
Ability to lead a team through a bustling dinner service
A passionate leader, invested in the development and success of their team
Proven ability to drive sales
Ability to motivate and drive a team of professionals
Strong communication and organizational skills
Customer centric focus
Ability to prioritize and work well under pressure
Have full Australian working rights
Available to work nights and weekends.
