  • Work Monday to Friday 22 hours per week
  • Start early at 5am, finish by 9:30am most days (days will vary slightly with finish time)

As our Mail Sorting Officer and Pick-Up/Delivery Driver, you’ll be working from our Mt Isa Delivery Centre where you’ll be responsible for manually sorting mail in preparation for delivery. You’ll play a key role in supporting our Posties, who provide a vital service to our local community every single day.


You’ll be

  • Working autonomously and in a team to manually sort mail including packages and parcels
  • Sorting and scanning all mail that comes through the Delivery Centre
  • Handling heavy parcels and bags of mail regularly - loading in and out of vehicles and around the facility
  • Required to use manual pallet jacks and stackers to receive and despatch large volume of mail
  • Assisting with pick up and delivery duties daily from our StarTrack Depot and the Airport

About you

  • You are flexible with working additional hours if required
  • You are happy working indoors and outdoors in this varied position
  • You have a great memory, excellent attention to detail and can lift up to 16kgs of Mail and Parcels regularly
  • Experience operating manual pallet jacks or stackers is advantageous but not mandatory
  • You have a QLD drivers licence with experience driving an automatic van or larger vehicle

  • Post probationary pay rate, salary for this role is $53,293 (pro rata based on full-time hours) plus additional 15% shift penalty payments and 12% superannuation
