About the Role
The Heavy Vehicle Services Directorate (HVS) is responsible for safe, efficient and sustainable heavy vehicle access to the Western Australian Road Network. Our role is to achieve objectives for road safety, transport efficiency, community amenity and preservation of the state’s road asset.
At HVS we work with state and national transport industry groups, individual operators, government bodies, regional areas and other key departments across Main Roads to achieve key outcomes.
As a Road Transport Compliance Coordinator, you will be responsible in coordinating road transport compliance programs and form part of the management team responsible for ensuring the deployment of resources for on road enforcement and compliance. You will be responsible for a team of Transport Inspectors that you will supervise on a day-to-day basis, conducting compliance activities by setting clear objectives and monitoring team and individual performance and contribute to the implementation of policies, plans and procedures in relation to road transport compliance.
About You
The successful applicant will need experience in written communication, report writing and the development and implementation of systems, policies and guidelines. The key deliveries of this role require leadership and supervisory skills to provide effective guidance to your team, effective communication skills to build and enhance stakeholder relationships and experience and knowledge in WA Road Traffic legislation, including knowledge of legal processes and procedures.
Your key focus or deliverables for this role will be to Considerable skill, knowledge and experience in:-
- - interpretation and application of legislation
- - development and implementation of systems and guidelines
- - supervision of teams and individuals
- - provision of customer focused services
- - building and enhancing stakeholder relationships
Special requirement: Occupants of these positions must be able and willing to undertake intra-state travel and work a roster which encompasses shift work, weekends, and public holidays.
As Main Roads is focussed on building strong partnerships across the organisation, you will also need to demonstrate your ability to build effective working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders, as well as having the ability to supervise employee behaviour, performance and development.
