We currently have an opportunity for a Technical Superintendent to join our team in Newcastle, NSW. Reporting to the Port Manager this position offers the successful candidate with the opportunity to provide engineering and technical support to our vessels based in the Port of Newcastle.

What You Will Do

Your key responsibilities in this position will include:

  • Manage vessel maintenance and availability alongside dedicated crew onboard in line with our planned maintenance system
  • Preparation and management of budgets, procurement requirements and associated reporting
  • Coordination of Classification and Government Authorities surveys and inspections, and management of related documents and certifications.
  • Liaision with contractors to undertake specialised maintenance tasks on our vessels
  • Work with the Operations Superintendent to plan maintenance schedules and labour requirements
  • Inventory control of stores and spare parts
  • Promote safe work practises in line with our Safety Management Syste


What You Will Need To Succeed

To be successful in this position, you will be able to demonstrate:

  • Tertiary qualifications or a certificate of competency in Marine Engineering or equivalent
  • Competency in MS Office Suite
  • An understanding of various mechanical equipment and systems, such as diesel engines, power generation, dynamic positioning, propulsion systems and hydraulics

A strong track record in a similar position with exposure to offshore support vessels and/or tugboats will be highly regarded.
