Working arrangements: The services will be performed by the Specified Personnel from the Canberra, Brisbane or Sydney office. Minimum 3 full days per week in the office (or as applicable to your the agreed upon arrangement with your supervisor).

Length of contract: 12 months

Contract extensions: 2 x 12 months

Security clearance: Must have Baseline clearance

Rates: $100 - $130 per hour (inc. super)

An IT Data Modeller engages in work scoping, sourcing, and optimising of data for analysis. They apply innovative analysis techniques and model results and scenarios, while maintaining the integrity of the system. An IT Data Modeller is highly proficient with data modelling and database design, business analysis, system databases, data elements and application software and other tool sets to develop enterprise data solutions. They have expert knowledge of data modelling methodologies and techniques and has demonstrated experience in delivering quality data model solutions to support complex IT project delivery. An IT Data Modeller have a demonstrated ability to guide development of data requirements for projects and drive a user experience that is easy to
use and delivers the right information at the right time. They liaise and collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and apply data modelling techniques and methodologies to analyse and translate these requirements into detailed data models, while adhering to Health and Aged Care’s IT Architecture & Design principles and Enterprise Data Modelling Framework. An IT Data Modeller have possessed excellent communication skills and are able to present complex data models in an accessible and effective format suitable for the target audience.

The Services to include, but not limited to, the following:

  • Architect and model data to support DAPS and Aged Care projects/programs using the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile development practices and processes maximising the EDW environment and associated technologies (such as Teradata, Informatica, Cloudera, SAS Cognos, Qlik, Oracle, PowerBi etc.).
  • They will present and valid proposed data models with business and technical stakeholders before developing data dictionary for physical data implementation.
  • Manage productive stakeholder relationships and associated risks.
  • Develop an agreed work plan of key performance indicators and outcomes.
  • Regular reporting against performance and effort; and
  • Contribute towards knowledge and skills transfer.

Required Skills and experience (Essential):

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver business solutions through the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile development practices and processes (for each of the specific roles defined)
  • 5+ years’ experience working and exhibiting knowledge (for the specific role defined)
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and capacity to communicate and work effectively within a multi-disciplined and blended team environment
  • Relevant qualifications/certification/accreditation (for each of the specific roles defined)
  • Experience and knowledge of Enterprise Data Warehouses (EDW) and associated technologies (such as Teradata, Informatica, Hadoop, SAS, Cognos, Qlik, Oracle etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to query and interpret data using efficient and effective SQL and provide sound advice on complex data/information related matters to deliver quality solutions.

Required Skills and experience (Desirable):

  • Experience in proactively delivering results and driving business change.
  • Practical skills in developing data management design artifacts, including developing mapping documents for builds in support of business processes and objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability in the development and/or directing the creation of efficient, maintainable and cost/effective databases.
  • Demonstrated skill to prepare and/or direct the creation and maintenance of data management documentation.
  • Experience in the following:
    • SQL for data analysis
    • Data modelling - dimensional and ERD, and awareness of data vault
    • Various database platforms (i.e. Oracle, SQL Server).
    • XML schema design, ER Studio or similar
    • Data management principles such as Metadata management, Data governance and Data quality
  • Inspires leadership through the ability to define and meet the expectations of the role.
