Senior Civil Engineer

Ace Civil Pty Ltd is located in Regents Park, NSW. Ace Civil was founded in Sydney, Australia in 2018. ACE has forged a significant reputation in the building and construction industry and over the past years we have established the company as a full-service early works contractor with the expertise to undertake a diversified range of projects. Our services include Bulk Earthworks, Deep Foundation, Asbestos Removal, Shoring Systems, Demolition, and Contaminated Site Management.

Situated within the corporate structure of the Allam Group, Ace Civil works with a number of associated corporate entities within the building and construction industry including Ace Demolition & Excavation Pty Ltd, Ace Piling Pty Ltd, and Allam Development Pty Ltd. The Allam Group is a large-scale employer in the building and construction industry and manages numerous construction projects. We have experienced unprecedented growth in recent years with an increase in annual turnover and employment opportunities.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities
  1. Determining methods of construction on projects and selecting materials for construction while ensuring construction quality standards.
  2. Drafting and interpreting construction specifications, including producing drawings, plans, methods of construction, and procedural methods.
  3. Preparing preliminary sketches, working drawings, and specifications.
  4. Preparing, editing, and revising plans, maps, charts, and drawings.
  5. Designing and constructing piling and shoring structures including Foundation Piles, Shoring Piles, Contiguous Piles, and Anchors, Capping Beams, Whalers, and Shotcrete Walls.
  6. Organizing and directing site labor, including delivery of construction materials and establishing detailed programs for the coordination of site activities.
  7. Conducting construction site inspections, including quality assessments.
  8. Analyzing architectural and engineering drawings and specifications to estimate total costs and preparing detailed cost plans and estimates to assist in budgetary control.
  9. Monitoring changes to construction designs, determining their effects on cost estimates, and measuring, valuing, and negotiating variations to designs.
  10. Analyzing and assessing structural systems for both static and dynamic loads.
  11. Detailing design for earthworks.
  12. Working on defects and sign-offs.
  13. Conducting quality assurance, HSE and Environmental checks.
  14. Working with construction safety teams to ensure safe work sites.
  15. Inspecting civil structures such as Footings, Lift Pits, OSD Tanks, Piles, and other in-ground structures to ensure construction to specifications prior to concrete installation.
  16. Undertaking material submissions, testing, and inspections including Submission and approval of grout mix design for anchors, Submission and approval of concrete mix designs, Inspection of drilled pile, Inspection of constructed pile, and Inspection of first shotcrete panel for suitability.
  17. Supervising and overseeing civil engineers carrying out duties on company work sites.
  18. Ensuring quality assurance procedures are rigorously followed on company work sites, including oversight of site staff in following company policy and processes.
Key Skills and Experience Required
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Demonstrated Australian operational experience in civil projects.
  • Minimum three years of relevant Australian work experience.
  • Proficiency in the English language.
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated competency in risk management for supervisors.
  • Strong understanding of workplace OHS procedures.
  • Demonstrated experience in whole work site management.
  • Satisfactory experience with quality assurance procedures and policy compliance.

We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Civil Engineer, and the salary offered for the position is $120,536.00 per annum plus superannuation.
