The opportunities

We are seeking 2 experienced lawyers to join our busy team in the Townsville CBD. We are happy to consider full and part time applicants as we appreciate that work is one part of each of our team members’ lives.

We are seeking to expand our commercial and litigation teams by the addition of one lawyer in each team. We are seeking lawyers who are eager to take on responsibility and who will provide their clients with practical advice that is result-focussed. All of our lawyers work alongside experienced support staff , who are prepared to work flexibly in accordance with the lawyers’ preferred system of operating.

We offer positive mentoring for more junior lawyers who are wanting to develop their skills in a positive environment. We also offer leadership opportunities for senior lawyers who are keen to innovate and expand.

Tasks for this role will include:

  • Providing commercial advice to business clients
  • Legal drafting, including leasing and business contracts
  • Assisting clients to achieve goals by providing well-rounded and practical legal advice
  • May include advices and drafting in wills and estates if the successful applicant is interested (training provided if sought).

Requirements for this role will include:

  • Experience in commercial law. Experience in wills and estates would also be advantageous
  • Admitted as a solicitor to the Supreme Court of Qld
  • Be a team player with a positive attitude
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

Tasks for this role will include:

  • Acting for corporate and individual clients in a broad range of commercial and non-commercial disputes
  • Appearing in court as required, including for interlocutory applications, with or without Counsel
  • Legal drafting including letters, claims, defences, applications and affidavits.

Requirements for this role will include:

  • Experience in litigation
  • Admitted as a solicitor to the Supreme Court of Qld
  • Willingness to assist clients in a variety of disputes relating to debt, contract and other causes of action
  • Ability to work independently to progress matters and manage files, but also willingness to work with other litigation lawyers and as part of a group
