About the role

As a Security Engineer at Canstar Group, you will be at the forefront of ensuring the security and integrity of our digital and physical infrastructure. You will implement, maintain, and monitor our security posture and roadmap, identify and mitigate security risks, and respond to security incidents. This role is perfect for a security-focused professional with a deep technical background and a passion for delivering high-quality solutions.

You’ll be a great fit if you…

  • Possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Have 2+ years of experience in a security engineering role
  • Have 2+ years experience with multiple operating systems and operating system security
  • Have 3+ years network servers and tools experience, including patch management
  • Have 3+ years experience in security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, vulnerability scanners, anti-virus software, authentication systems, log management, content filtering, SIEMs, etc
  • Understand security and privacy methodologies and regulations such as NIST, ISO 27001, The Data Privacy Act.
  • Are familiar with web-related technologies (Web applications, Web Services, Service Oriented Architectures) and network/web-related protocols.
  • Have experience with public cloud providers such as AWS and/or GCP.
  • Have strong technical problem-solving skills and can quickly draw on them in unfamiliar situations.
  • Demonstrate proactive communication and strong collaboration skills.
  • Have a passion for security and a desire to stay up-to-date on the latest threats.
  • Can lead a team and manage resources effectively.
