About the Role

The role of the Unaccredited Registrar is to work alongside Accredited Trainees in both OMFS and ENT, under the direction of their Supervising Consultants and Departmental Heads of Unit.

Western Health is a multi-campus organisation, with facilities in Footscray, Sunshine and Williamstown. In addition, the Unaccredited Registrar will have sessional commitments at the Royal Dental Hospital in Carlton.

The Unaccredited Registrar will play a central role in all areas of patient care: outpatient clinics, ward management, operating theatre, and in the provision of dentoalveolar surgery under local anaesthetic.

This role will provide the successful incumbent with the necessary skillset, experience and support to assist with the transition to an accredited training post in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery or ENT surgery.

To be Successful in this Role you:

  • Hold dental and medical qualifications recognised in Australia
  • Have current medical and dental registration with AHPRA (or eligible for)
  • Possess clinical experience at advanced training level
  • Have the ability to work as part of a team
  • Are committed to professional development & teaching of junior doctors and medical students
  • Have an interest in research & audit
