Safearth is a specialist electrical engineering group providing world-recognised expertise in safe power system earthing/grounding and lightning protection systems. Established more than 30 years ago, we’ve designed and tested thousands of earthing systems for global energy, power, rail, defence, mining, water, oil and gas industries. We specialise in the design, specification, and commissioning of new earthing systems. For existing systems, we assess and advise on refurbishment and management to ensure long-term protection. Safearth provides expert engineering design, testing and forensic services to asset owners and project teams across WA.

The Opportunity
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior or Principal Engineer to join our business based in Perth. This position involves participating in a team environment to provide specialist consulting services to Safearth’s clients and the support of Safearth activities in the following areas:

• Earthing System Design and final technical approval of designs

• Earthing system performance assessment and testing

• Lightning protection system design and assessment

• Electrical shock safety auditing and incident investigation

• Complex electrical problem solving across instrumentation, power, pipe, and communications systems

• Work Health and Safety.

You will report to Safearth’s Regional Manager, responsible for design quality, project performance, technical development, business and relationship development, engineering processes and client liaison for projects. With your exceptional stakeholder management skills, you will build and sustain strong relationships internally and externally and build credibility quickly as you manage a selection of clients in an around Western Australia.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Bachelor of Electrical Engineering Degree or equivalent 
  • Extensive experience in operational planning and project management to deliver consulting results.
  • The ability to influence and work with others to achieve high level outcomes.
  • Comprehensive understanding of risk management - qualitative and quantitative.
  • Professional qualified and registered engineer 
  • Australian Permanent or Temporary Resident (please specify temporary resident visa type)
  • Current Australian Driver’s License.
