About the role.

The Systems Accountant is required to resolve day to day issues with the Oracle eBusiness Suite applications to ensure functional efficiency. 

Led by the Finance Manager – Systems & Banking, this role will ensure integrity of the financial environment through regular reconciliations and reporting along with providing the business with meaningful information when required.

Our ideal candidate enjoys the technology and complexity of systems, be the conduit between Accountants and Information Technology with an understanding of how the two connect, bringing foundational knowledge of accounting concepts such as balance sheets and P&L.

What's involved:

Functionally support Oracle eBusiness Application modules

Daily checking of system functions to ensure no errors have occurred

Create and maintain chart of accounts

Perform new store setup activities in Oracle Inventory

Perform period close activities in line with Accounting month end timetable

Reconcile Oracle EBS subledger to General Ledger

Financial representative for upgrade projects and coordinate user acceptance testing

Develop, document and present training workshops

Assist IT with Service Requests logged with Oracle via My Oracle Support

Assist system users with reporting requirements

Design and create reports using Orbital reporting

Assist Accounting team with reconciliation issues

Document business requirements and prepare IT Service Requests for system enhancements

Perform system administration functions for Corporate Online (Westpac Bank System), and Bpoint (CBA Online Payments)

Develop and maintain key business relationships with appropriate stakeholders within Bunnings

Work within relevant statutory regulations, accounting standards and group policies and conduct their activities accordingly.

You’ll need:

Commerce or Business degree with relevant Accounting & Finance majors

Proven experience in Systems Accounting within any industry

Experience supporting Oracle EBS Applications is not essential however highly regarded

Knowledge of accounting principles & standards

Be customer service centric with the ability to build relationships and articulate well

Ability to meet tight deadlines, be proactive and show initiative

Hold strong problem solving skills and enjoy getting into the detail.
