PURCHASING OFFICER 
About the role:

The Purchasing Officer is responsible for providing administrative support to the Procurement Team. The role mainly consists of office-based work raising purchase orders and processing goods receipts within the Finance System.

What will you be doing:

• Receive purchase order requests, clarify requirements, and raise purchase orders
• Liaise with suppliers to coordinate orders.
• Process goods receipts promptly and accurately.
• Respond to simple internal and external enquiries. More complex/sensitive matters are to be escalated.
• Participate in testing and implementation of new processes, systems, and tools.
• Liaise with staff to ensure a clear understanding of their purchase requirements and confirm receipt of goods/services
• Compliance with procurement policy and framework
• Respond promptly to purchasing enquires

 
What we require from you:

Qualifications and experience

• Previous experience in an administration, purchasing or accounts payable team would be highly regarded but is not essential
• Proficient in Microsoft office suite of applications (Outlook, Excel and Word)
• A current driver’s licence

• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Good time management skills.
• High level of attention to detail.
• High level of accuracy in data entry
• Understanding of Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental principles.
