Minara Resources is Australia’s largest cobalt producer and a major world producer of nickel. Our Murrin Murrin site in WA’s northern Goldfields is an integrated nickel and cobalt mining and processing operation employing over 1,000 people. Minara Resources is wholly owned by Glencore, one of the world’s largest globally diversified natural resources companies and a major producer and marketer of more than 60 commodities. Glencore employs over 145,000 people operates around 150 operating mining and processing sites, oil production assets and agricultural facilities in over 35 countries.
The Role
This role is a member of a small skilled, supportive, and hardworking team who are responsible for providing advice, support and coaching to our leaders and employees in order to optimise employee performance and the employment experience.
You will be responsible for:
- Providing advice, support and coaching to line managers on HR/IR matters, including performance management, remuneration and benefits, succession planning and team culture;
- Contributing to improvements in policies and processes that support the department strategy and objectives;
- Analysing market trends, data and dashboards to make effective business decisions;
- Undertaking workplace investigations and dealing with grievances raised;
- Assisting with interpretation and application of legislation and Company policies and procedures, ensuring consistency and compliance;
- Identifying opportunities for improvement and recommending solutions that align with business needs and culture;
- Building relationships and working collaboratively with internal HR colleagues, leaders and employees;
- Understanding and managing competing priorities ensuring timely action; and
- Participating in the implementation and continuous improvement of HR initiatives, processes, policies, and procedures.
This role would suit a person with practiced interpersonal skills, high attention to detail and a strong customer service focus who is seeking a stimulating role. You will also have:
- Past experience in similar level role, preferably in an onsite mining or construction environment;
- Broad experience providing HR generalist support in performance management, talent management, remuneration and benefits;
- Demonstrated experience in managing employee grievances, disciplinary processes and workplace investigations;
- Comprehensive knowledge of IR Legislation;
- The ability to analyse data and communicate trends, emerging issues and opportunities;
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint; and
- Relevant tertiary qualifications.
