This is a dynamic and rewarding role, as TAIHS is a unique organisation, providing a varied range of services across multiple facets of our community.
TAIHS was established in 1974. At that time, it was the fourth Aboriginal community-controlled health service (ACCHS) established in Australia. TAIHS provides comprehensive primary health services and a range of community services. TAIHS seeks to improve health and social outcomes for the community through strategic partnerships advocacy for needs, promotion of awareness and education in improved health and social practices, the promotion of knowledge and understanding of underlying issues to address the unique patient and client needs and the development of evidence-based practices.

The Position
This position is responsible for the provision of professionally autonomous high quality podiatry services while observing safety and infection control standards. This role is responsible for the management and prevention of the high-risk foot issues including diabetic and vascular foot ulcers, wounds and for the provision of education to the health care team on appropriate foot care.
Generous remuneration package and benefits
This position has the opportunity to work as a Casual or Part time employee with the hourly rate between, $62 and $78 per hour plus 11% Superannuation. Other employment benefits may include salary sacrificing options, employee wellness and assistance programs.
To be suitable for this position, your qualifications, experience & licenses for the role will consist of
- Tertiary qualification in Podiatry with post qualification experience and eligibility to obtain and maintain professional registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Registration Agency (AHPRA)
- Accredited Podiatrist status with the Australian Podiatry Council or other equivalent accrediting body
- Understanding of chronic disease management and the importance of client self-care
- Ability to work with GPs, clients, carers/families and a wide variety of professionals as part of a team
- Demonstrated competence in use of Medical Director, Pracsoft and Outlook with the ability to adapt to new software programs with ease as required
