Technology Specialist - Software Engineer

About the opportunity:

You will provide a range of software engineering advisory duties supporting our clients in Defence and Govt, either on client site or back of office.

We are seeking expressions of interest from experienced Defence Software Engineersto support upcoming Defence contracts in either permanent or contracting engagements.

You could be expected to:

  • Design, develop, and maintain software applications to meet the needs of our clients.
  • Provide software development best practices with a strong emphasis on application security.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
  • Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
  • Engage with stakeholders to understand and address their needs and concerns.
  • Apply strong problem-solving skills to overcome technical challenges.
  • Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  • Contribute to engineering reports, specifications, feasibility studies and proposals to determine and recommend changes in the design, performance, or functionality of systems.
  • Manage and implement software configuration changes to ensure system stability and efficiency.
  • Participate inSystem Safety Working Groups (SSWG).

Ex Defence personnel highly regarded

Qualifications Relevant To Your Experience.

  • Due to the nature of our work, An Australian Citizen with a current or recently inactive AGSVA clearance is required.
  • Able to multi-task and prioritise workload.
  • Able to show initiative and adaptable to client requirements.
  • Able to build and maintain relationships.
  • Able to manage conflict.
  • A self-starter who takes the initiative with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • A high level of communication both written and verbal.
  • An ability to work either individually or as part of a broader team.
  • Proven experience in software development.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, C++).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • A passion for learning and staying updated with the latest industry trends.
