Who are we?
MAMAS Dining Group is a leading hospitality group in Melbourne, comprising Hochi Mama CBD, Hochi Mama Richmond, Straight Outta Saigon, and Kiss & Tell. Our venues are known for their vibrant ambiance, exceptional dining journeys, and delectable cuisine. With two new venues opening and as we rapidly secure our position in the industry, we are looking for a General Manager to join our team.
The Role
This is a full-time role as a General Manager at MAMAS Dining Group, located in Melbourne CBD. The General Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the operations of multiple venues within the group, ensuring excellent customer service, driving revenue growth, and maintaining high standards of quality and hygiene. The General Manager will also be responsible for staff management, training and development, and maintaining positive relationships with suppliers and stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in managing operations in the hospitality industry
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Knowledge of food and beverage industry trends
- Financial acumen and experience in budgeting and cost management
- Ability to analyze and interpret business performance data
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks
- Relevant qualifications in hospitality or business management
- Experience in the Greater Melbourne Area hospitality market is a plus
- Fostering a positive team culture to enhance guest experiences and achieve business goals.
- Leading by example, mentoring, and up-skilling teams to deliver exceptional service and cultivate a culture of collaboration, high performance, and motivation.
- Collaborating with stakeholders and business directors on strategies for development and improvements.
We Are Looking For
- Significant multi-outlet/venue management experience in the restaurant industry.
- Strong understanding of management and restaurant compliance practices.
- Ability to perform well under pressure.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Deputy (or similar Time & Attendance systems) and Microsoft Office suite.
- A lead-from-the-front approach to training, developing, and nurturing teams with a focus on guest satisfaction, community engagement, and sales.
- Strong financial acumen and experience managing costs, labor, expenses, and capital expenditures.
- Entrepreneurial spirit with a creative mindset.
- Commitment to fostering a positive, educational, and results-focused working environment.
- Passion for culinary excellence and extensive food and beverage knowledge.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, able to engage with guests and staff from diverse backgrounds with positivity and respect.
- High energy and a great sense of humor.
- Availability to work weekends, public holidays, and varied shifts.
