In this role, you will report to the Senior Geotechnical Engineer and work on an 8:6 roster as part of our Golden Grove operation in Western Australia. Your focus will be on applying geotechnical principles to ensure the safe and efficient underground mining operations, including ground control and backfill operations.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  1. Assisting the Senior Geotechnical Engineer with upholding standards in ground control / support, mining methods, and extraction sequence.
  2. Helping update and implement the Ground Control Management Plan to meet statutory guidelines.
  3. Supporting geotechnical risk assessments to enhance safety and operational efficiency.
  4. Analysing backfill QA/QC results to ensure optimal stope fill quality and identify improvement opportunities.
  5. Contributing to mine planning by ensuring excavation designs, sequences, pillars, and ground support are tailored to local conditions.
  6. Championing safety through exemplary behaviour, proactive communication, and adherence to site HSEC standards and procedures.

Our ideal candidate will have a few years of practical post-graduation experience as a Geotechnical Engineer in underground mining environments. Other key skills, experience, and qualifications:

  1. A tertiary degree in geotechnical engineering or a related discipline.
  2. Proficiency with the Rocscience software suite.
  3. Experience with Deswik.MDM (Mining Data Management).
  4. Current C Class WA Licence (Manual).
