About the Role


The Procurement lead sits within Maintenance Operations, Transport Services and is responsible for procuring services to deliver a large complex road maintenance program, including procurement of design and project management services, maximising value for money. The Procurement Lead will provide practical advice on procurement and ensure compliance with the Department’s procurement policies.


Position Outcomes 

  • Effectively plans procurement to maximise value for money, ensuring timely delivery of services, and making best use of limited resources.
  • Effectively and efficiently provides procurement services supporting the delivery of a large, complex road maintenance program. 
  • Provides assurance of the procurement program in line with the Department’s standards and policies.
  • Enhances the team’s capability to improve the quality and timeliness of procurement.
  • Promote and support safe, inclusive and flexible team operations.

To be successful in this role you will understand the context of clients and stakeholders to design and implement systems for continuous improvement, analysing internal and external information to enhance effectiveness and quality. You will foster and reward innovation and creativity within the team. Translating strategies into successful programs or projects, you will define governance measures to manage risks and ensure success. You will seek efficient operations, understand the costs, and hold external vendors accountable. Your ability to detect underlying concerns and present as genuine and sincere will enable you to achieve the best outcomes for individuals and the organisation. Actively improving others' skills and talents through knowledge sharing, constructive feedback, coaching, and learning opportunities will be key, consistently developing team capability and recognising potential in others. Your negotiation and influencing skills will be crucial in achieving successful outcomes with stakeholders.
