Queensland Government-owned corporation, Sunwater is planning for the construction of a new dam wall immediately downstream from the existing Paradise Dam on the Burnett River. The project is a large, multi-year project that will ensure a safe and secure water supply for the Bundaberg region for future generations. This role is part of the Paradise Alliance, formed by Sunwater to deliver the Paradise Dam Improvement Project, with CPB Contractors / Georgiou appointed as major construction partner and GHD as the ongoing design partner.
About the roleBased in Fortitude Valley and reporting to the Senior Project Engineer, the Project Engineer will be responsible for:
- Ensure construction-related aspects of the project meet or exceed the required performance targets in relation to time, cost and quality.
- Maintain our contractual schedule/program, including productivity units and extension of time.
- Engagement and management of subcontractors from tender to scope delivery.
- Monitor and report on task productivity, financial outcomes and cost control.
- Provide daily support, team supervision and feedback to field operations.
- Ensure project HSEQ objectives are set and adhered to maintain an exemplary safety culture.
Aside from having relevant qualifications and project experience, candidates should possess strong management and planning abilities, high standards in safety, quality, and environmental management, as well as experience with civil and/or structural engineering principles. Knowledge of temporary works scope is desirable.
