Head of Commercial Opportunity | Rail and Infrastructure
About My Client:
This is a fantastic opportunity to be a key part of the leadership team overseeing Commercial Operations across the East Coast of Australia. Our client - an Australian owned construction company delivers challenging infrastructure projects, with a key focus on client collaboration and a commitment to excellence. The success of their projects is a reflection of their people, and clients to build infrastructure for communities now and future generations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage pre-contracts processes, ensuring effective interaction and collaboration with Joint Venture (JV) partners.
- Develop and implement strategies for successful contract negotiations and partnerships.
- Oversee the Commercial function, providing leadership and direction to ensure project success.
- Act as the primary point of contact for escalation and resolution of commercial issues.
- Lead and manage growing Commercial team
- Foster a culture of consistency, excellence, and continuous improvement within the team.
- Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels.
- Apply knowledge of commercial law to manage contracts, mitigate risks, and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Be an integral part of the leadership team, contributing to strategic decision-making, driving organisational growth and opportunities.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Commercial Manager or Director, preferably in the Rail, Building, or Infrastructure sectors.
- Demonstrated experience in managing projects valued up to $100Million.
- Strong understanding of pre-construction processes, JV partnerships, and commercial delivery.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- In-depth knowledge of commercial law and its application in large-scale projects.
- Exceptional team management skills, with a track record of implementing consistency and leading high-performing teams.
