Compliance & Risk (Banking & Financial Services)

  • Assist with the implementation and maintenance of the CCBS Operational Risk Framework, ensuring policies and practices are consistent with both regulatory and group control requirements;
  • Contribute to the development, management and maintenance of the CCBS Risk Appetite Framework (as described in the Risk Management Strategy), including;
    • Assist with developing and maintaining the CCBS Risk Register;
    • Support the Risk Profiling process by working with each department to identify the key risks;
    • Assist with the development and maintenance of Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) to support the measurement of actual risk levels; 
    • Support with the implementation and oversight of a Risk Acceptance process; and
    • Contribute to the development and maintenance of appropriate risk reporting.
  • Support the ongoing adherence to BEAR and FAR regulatory requirements;
  • Provide guidance and assistance to CCBS departments in regards the development and application of processes, procedures and controls;
  • Under guidance assist with operational risk “deep dives” on individual departments to test controls and where necessary coordinate remediation of control improvements;
  • Coordinate necessary departmental training to assist departments to manage their identified risks;
  • Support the ongoing development of the Breach & Incident process; and 
  • Develop and maintain key relationships throughout the business as necessary, ensuring open and effective risk communications.

Pre-requisites:

  • A knowledge of operational risk principles and frameworks; and
  • Prior experience in contributing to the development of an operational risk capability, including risk profiling, risk registers, KRIs, risk appetite reporting, risk assurance, acceptance etc

Capabilities:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and effectively;
  • Well-developed negotiation and influencing skills;
  • High attention to detail and process; and
  • Ability to interpret regulatory requirements into commercial practice and control requirements.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Degree qualified in a business or accounting discipline;
  • Strong understanding and previous experience of regulatory requirements;
  • At least 2years experience in a “hands on” operational risk role;
  • At least 3years experience at a regulated financial institution;
