About the role
Exciting career opportunity for an experienced Finance Manager to join the dynamic and motivated Finance team.
The role sits within the Australian Finance team, working with the Head of Finance, Australia and managing a team of accountants. The role is responsible for the financial reporting, management reporting, tax compliance and capital management components of the Australian Partnerships.
The key responsibilities will include:
Monthly and quarterly financial reporting and processes
- Assist in the preparation and review of the monthly and quarterly reporting requirements for the respective Partnership including the GMG quarterly reporting pack and Partnership reports.
- Review and sign off on all monthly balance sheet reconciliations for the respective Partnership as part of the month end process.
- Ensure the monthly and quarterly requirements are maintained and understood by the team.
Statutory reporting and financial compliance
- Manage the external audit process for your respective Partnership.
- Maintain an awareness and understanding of current and proposed accounting standards that may impact the Partnerships and the financial reporting requirements.
- Ensure the half yearly and annual board papers are collated and reviewed with the Legal team.
- Work with the Legal team to ensure the submission of all financial reporting obligations to ASIC are met as part of the annual reporting process.
- Assist where required with the internal audit process including the general financial controls annual review.
Tax
- Review the monthly BAS and IAS across your respective Partnership.
- Monthly review of relevant tax schedules including deferred account reconciliations, FAR, unit cost base schedules and relevant supporting information.
- Review of quarterly tax distribution models before distribution and review of annual distribution model and tax returns.
Budgeting and forecasting
- Assist in the preparation of the Partnerships budgets and reforecasts.
- Assist in the preparation of the property level budgets and reforecast by reviewing inputs and models used as part of the analytics process to ensure the delivery of accurate information to the business.
- Ensure final budget components are compiled and shared with the teams.
Treasury, capital and financial risk management
- Review of the Partnership capital management plan and cashflows to ensure all obligations are met and there is sufficient liquidity.
- Review of the covenants and compliance certificates to ensure Partnership is compliant with its financing arrangements.
- Understand the undertakings within the debt documents for your respective Partnership and work with the Treasury team to ensure compliance obligations are met.
People leadership
- Effective management and coaching of team members to foster a healthy and inclusive environment of learning and innovation.
- Role model and demonstrate the Finance Team Charter principles. Collaborate with the Finance leadership team to review and update the Charter to keep relevant to maximise engagement and output of the team.
About You
In addition, the successful candidate will have:
- CPA/CA qualified
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting related discipline
- Minimum 7 years’ financial accounting experience
- Minimum 2 years’ people leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of Australian regulatory framework and Australian taxation law
- Strong knowledge and capability in using Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel
- Experience with modelling or forecasting systems experience including the ability to understand models.
- Desirable experience using Windows operated accounting packages e.g Yardi, JDE, SAP or Oracle
- Desirable experience with reporting tools e.g. TM1 and PowerBI
- Excellent time management and prioritisation skills to meet strict deadlines
- Demonstrate excellent customer service
- Able to lead and coach a diverse team

- Able to identify problems and source a solution
