Canberra, Österreich Services Australia Vollzeit

As an APS5 Costing Analyst within the Budget and Financial Management Branch’s Costing Team, you will support Executive Level staff by assisting with the production of high quality, accurate and timely costings, to ensure Services Australia (the Agency) receives appropriate funding to deliver its outcomes.

Costing Analysts exercise both initiative and judgement, in the interpretation of policy and consideration of service delivery implications, as well as application of costing practices and processes. You will have the opportunity to engage with stakeholders within the Agency and across government, including central agencies.

Working under general direction, Costing Analysts undertake independent assessments and make evidence-based decisions to provide advice to senior team members on cost estimates. You will contribute to process reform and automation activities, including assisting with the simplification and improvement of the team’s work practices and processes. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities are required for this role.

About the Division

The CFO Division provides financial advice, contestability, control and assurance to the Agency based on the following principles:

  • Financial information that is accurate, transparent, consistent, relevant and timely.
  • Simple, helpful, respectful, quality, contestable and informed financial advice to assist Agency decision making, including finance business partners where it is efficient, effective and practical to do so.
  • Standardised, centralised, and streamlined financial structures, processes, reporting and services, in order to remove duplication and reduce inefficiencies.
  • The automation of financial processes where it is efficient and viable to do so.

The CFO is setting an ambitious reform agenda to modernise and automate the finance function.
