We have an opportunity for an experienced Tank Project Manager to join the Maintenance and Reliability team at our Lytton Manufacturing Facility in Brisbane.

Reporting to the Program Maintenance Superintendent, you will be responsible for the tank turnaround project deliverables. Including project concept, tank related maintenance, work method selection, development of project alternatives, project detail planning and execution.

Key responsibilities:

  • Detailed planning and execution of Lytton Refinery and Lubricant Tank Turnaround 10 Year Plan
  • Ensure executed tank repairs are performed in accordance with Ampol policies, procedures, standards, work instructions and all other relevant industry standards such as AS1940, API650 and API 653, and that MOC are applied.
  • Ensure Health, Safety & Environment performance standards are monitored and maintained by leading the workforce through the challenges of balancing Safety, Quality, Schedule and Cost.
  • Attends Toolbox talks to connect with the frontline workforce across the T&I Team conduction regular SSI’s.
  • Manage the planning and execution of plant turnarounds. Ensure the Ampol Project Management, MOC, Pre Start up Safety Review and Outage Management Process is well followed.
  • Assist with the preparation of budget estimates for storage tank turnaround program
  • Oversee the development of the Tank Turnaround execution plan and support optimisation and delivery of critical path within known execution risks
  • Working closely with Inspection, Operation and Supply Planning team to ensure tanks are taken out of service for inspection to minimise RFE.
  • Manage contractor performance including safety performance, quality, schedule and cost.
  • Drive continuous improvement for area of responsibilities and lean maturity process.

About you:

You will have proven experience in storage tank maintenance and/or construction experience as a Tank Engineer, Tank Turnaround Supervisor, Tank Inspector or Asset Inspection experience in the oil and gas or petrochemical industries.

The successful candidate will have the ability to meet deadlines and possess good communication skills, both written and verbal with ability to interface with multiple levels of the organisation.

You will have a passion for safety, strong strategic planning and co-ordinating skills as well as the ability to make pragmatic, informed, risk-based decisions. In addition, you will possess influencing and negotiation skills, a commitment to continuous improvement and the ability to develop good working relations with key stakeholders.

This role suits individuals who are adaptable with a strong work ethic that are looking to take the next step in their career, holding increased ownership and accountability for business outcomes in a position that directly influences direction of activities and decisions onsite.

Skills and experience:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or related discipline.
  • Experience in storage tank maintenance (Tank Engineer, Tank Turnaround Supervisor, Tank Inspector or Asset Inspection).
  • Project Management experience in the oil and gas or petrochemical industries is desirable.
  • Strong focus on relevant codes and standards as well as legislation including Environmental, Occupational Health & Safety.
  • Strength in stakeholder engagement on cross functional issues.
  • Strong financial experience in project managing projects ($1 - $10M) in the oil and gas industry (or related industry).
