Wood is recruiting a Lead Planner to join our Operations team in Perth. This is a long-term staff position for someone looking to join an experienced team in Project Controls in Oil & Gas and Brownfield projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

A key focus of your role will be modifications and small projects. The contract is well established, with a broad and exciting portfolio of long-term scopes, secured across multiple onshore and offshore assets. This is a hands-on lead role and will act as the focal point for all aspects of planning support to the Brownfield team, managing the communications interfaces essential for the delivery of the Planning team and shall be responsible for ensuring systems, process, procedures, and standards are maintained.

Working as part of an integrated project team you will be:

  • Review and maintain baseline project plans
  • Monitor and control planning activities through all phases of project lifecycle
  • Liaise with engineering, procurement and construction functions, and others as required
  • Analyze and issue copies of project plans and schedules in accordance with project reporting requirements
  • Analyze and issue copies of project progress and performance status reports in accordance with project reporting requirements
  • Review and analyze updates to project plans, schedules and project resource requirements
  • Assess and communicate schedule impact of change notifications
  • Liaise with cost discipline to ensure accurate and timely control and forecasting of man-hour budgets and ensure that the impact of all change requests is properly assessed and included in the schedules
  • Play a key role in the mentoring and career development of Planning personnel


QUALIFICATIONS

Please note you must be an Australian citizen or currently hold Permanent Residency (PR) and able to work lawfully in Australia.

Ideally, you will have a minimum of 10 + years' experience as a Planner working in an Engineering environment. In addition, ISCED level 6 (Bachelors) Degree in a relevant technical or business discipline (or equivalent gained through relevant vocational training and/or industry experience).

You will have:

  • Advanced knowledge of Primavera and other scheduling software and related tools and techniques including Logic and CPM analysis, resource loading and levelling
  • Advanced understanding of WBS and project reporting capabilities
  • Advanced ability to develop level 3 schedules and plans
  • Excellent understanding of earned value application, schedule variance analyses/trending and what-if scenarios
  • Advanced understanding of project management principles and techniques
  • prior experience in a senior planning role
