HR Partners by Randstad has multiple opportunities for Human Resource Advisors at varying levels of experience to join our client site in Townsville. These roles are for a 12 month period with an immediate start for a government department.

About the HR Advisor:

The role will provide operational and administrative support with some research and analysis activities. The individual will be required to handle moderately complex enquiries and engage with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated ability to research and interpret information.
  • Demonstrated ability to consider and effectively manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment, including utilising a positive and proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Is able to undertake analysis and assessment of detailed and sensitive information.
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to use technology and information management systems in order to achieve team outcomes.
  • Ability to contribute constructively to team activities and cultivate productive working relationships with internal stakeholders.


About the Senior HR Advisor:

This role will require a certain level of independent decision making relating to the area of responsibility. The role will require policy advice within an area of specialisation with advice based on policies and legislation.

  • Demonstrated ability to research and interpret information.
  • Demonstrated ability to consider and effectively manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment, including utilising a positive and proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Is able to undertake analysis and assessment of detailed and sensitive information.
  • Sound judgement and ability to make decision supported by evidence.
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to use technology and information management systems in order to achieve team outcomes.
  • Great attention to detail.
  • Ability to contribute constructively to team activities and cultivate productive working relationships with internal stakeholders.

About the individuals:

  • Excellent IT skills, including proven ability to proficiently use Microsoft Office products.
  • Experience with Service Desk (Jira) or ticket system software would be advantageous.
  • Understanding of conflict of interest in a workplace setting would be advantageous but not compulsory.
  • Generalist HR experience Understanding of conflict of interest in a workplace setting would be advantageous but not compulsory.
  • Working in a team environment with a strong emphasis on collaboration.
  • Experience in establishing functions of a role within an established framework.
  • Confident communicator with all levels of an organization.
  • Applicants must be Australian Citizens.
