The role

The Community Events Manager is a member of the Community Engagement Team and Enrolments Team and reports to the Head of Community Connections in all aspects of the position. The Community Events Manager will work with key stakeholders to co-ordinate the development and delivery of the annual schedule of College events and activities.

The College events are diverse and range from Gala Balls and Fundraisers, Valedictory Dinners, School Celebrations, Parent Group Events and Alumni networking functions. The College works with external charities and organisations to launch nationwide programmes and initiatives and no two days are the same.

To be successful in this role you will have a passion for creating innovative experiences and be able to work at a cracking pace to ensure they are delivered to the high standards and expectations of our broader community. 

You will demonstrate the following attributes and capabilities:

  • Demonstrated ability to co-ordinate a diverse range of events and activities to a high standard of presentation and delivery
  • 5+ years experience working as an event manager within an agency or corporate event team, school events environment desirable but not essential
  • Exhibit knowledge of the nature of competing event priorities and the ability to manage the co-ordination of formal and informal occasions
  • Demonstrate the ability to develop supportive and professional relationships with members of the College community 
  • A self-motivated strategic thinker with demonstrated ability to manage projects with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work productively and collaboratively as part of a team to achieve shared goals 
  • Possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to build rapport and quality relationships with the range of stakeholders within the College community
  • Ability to adopt a flexible approach to work tasks and to manage changing priorities
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement 
  • Ability to demonstrate professional conduct and discretion at all times
  • Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends based on the school’s event calendar
  • Willingness to support the ethos and values of the College
