Junior Dental Assistant

Our busy specialist dental practice requires an enthusiastic junior dental assistant to join us. This fast paced casual role is for 1- 3 days per week (must be available between Tuesday-Fridays). Experience is not essential as we can provide comprehensive on-the-job training.

The opportunity is for someone looking to start a career in the dental industry and looking to potentially undertake certificate III training in dental assisting.


About the role


You will work with our orthodontists, dental specialists and oral health therapists and be a part of our dynamic and friendly team.


Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Providing chairside assistance to orthodontists and therapists while learning to assist in the clinic.
  • Adhering to strict infection control guidelines and protocols
  • Efficient scheduling and diary management for our doctors
  • Professionalism at all times when interacting with our clients
  • Managing the flow of our wonderful clients with our practices
  • Scheduling and confirming appointments
  • Building and maintaining relationships with patients and their families.
  • Record keeping, patient coordination and administrative work.

About you

You will ideally possess:

  • A vibrant, outgoing and positive personality who is capable of working quickly and multitasking.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a friendly and outgoing nature.
  • A mature mindset, ability to take initiative and to complete tasks autonomously once trained.
  • A firm grasp of both written and verbal communication.
  • Have successfully completed the HSC.
  • The desire to work hard and as part of a team.
