About Us: Our client is a leading renewables development firm dedicated to creating innovative renewables projects that positively impact communities and the environment. With a focus on greenfield developments, they are committed to finding and developing sites that maximize environmental sustainability while meeting the needs of our clients and stakeholders.
Position Overview: They are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Greenfield Project Development Manager to join our team in Melbourne. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading the identification, assessment, and development of suitable sites for our projects. This role requires a strong understanding of about the renewables industry, site evaluation techniques, and project management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Site Identification: Research and identify potential greenfield sites for development projects in and around Melbourne.
- Site Assessment: Conduct comprehensive assessments of potential sites, considering factors such as environmental impact, zoning regulations, infrastructure availability, and market demand.
- Feasibility Studies: Prepare detailed feasibility studies to evaluate the viability of potential projects, including cost estimates, risk analysis, and projected returns on investment.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal teams, external consultants, government agencies, landowners, and community stakeholders to gather necessary information and gain support for project development.
- Land Acquisition: Lead negotiations for land acquisition, including purchase agreements, lease agreements, and other legal documents.
- Project Planning: Develop strategic plans for project development, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Permitting and Approvals: Manage the permitting and approval process for development projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and obtaining necessary approvals from relevant authorities.
- Project Management: Oversee all aspects of project development, from initial concept through design, construction, and completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project delays and cost overruns.
- Sustainability Integration: Integrate principles of environmental sustainability into all aspects of project development, striving to achieve high levels of energy efficiency, resource conservation, and environmental stewardship.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, renewables energy or related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in greenfield project development, preferably in the renewables industry
- Strong understanding of project development process in the renewables industry.
- Demonstrated experience in site identification, assessment, and feasibility analysis.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results on time and within budget.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations, zoning codes, and permitting processes in Victoria, Australia.
- Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
