The bdna Forensic team of business analysts, software developers, engineers, testers and forensic subject matter experts work closely with law enforcement and forensic laboratories to improve forensic service delivery through specialist products.

What you'll do

Lead and build a growing team of DevOps engineers and collaborate across teams. You will be accountable for:

  • Release Management (and automation)

Lead the team to deliver the following:

  • Design and implement our SaaS infrastructure
  • Design, build, and optimise automation systems and procedures to maintain the platform and data, including the use of Infrastructure as Code
  • Review and manage all environments maintaining availability, stability and performance in line with internal/external customer expectations
  • Lead the implementation of security best practices in Azure, including identity and access management, network security, encryption and monitoring, in collaboration with security team.
  • Ensure appropriate monitoring of terms of service, performance, capacity and security for compliance with expected standards to protect bdna and our customers from security risks, compliance concerns, and data breaches.
  • Design and continuously review the use of features and licences to optimise costs
  • Lead and be accountable for incident management and security compliance issues related to platforms and environments.

Release Management

Lead the team to deliver the following:

  • Lead the adoption of continuous build, inspection, testing and deployment
  • Implement automation tools and frameworks (CI/CD pipelines).
  • Configure the DevOps stack with regards to performance monitoring, analytics, and audit-ability
  • Deploy releases on our customer infrastructure which may involve occasional after-hours work
  • Manage a small group of highly motivated DevOps and Infrastructure engineers
  • Foster a culture of accountability for the overall performance of our DevOps and Infrastructure portfolio. 
  • Interface with the agile software teams as required, including participating in agile ceremonies
  • Participate in all aspects of DevOps Engineering and promote industry standard methodologies in DevOps Engineering with a particular focus on security.

Education and Experience

  • Degree in Information Technology/Computer Science or related field
  • At least three years relevant experience 
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code and Security as Code (Terraform)
  • Must be an Australian Citizen
  • Must be located in Brisbane, Australia and permitted to work permanently with no restriction on work hours
  • Must be eligible to be considered for NV1 security clearance.
