The Team & Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced leader to join our Human Resources (HR) team in Australia to help us continue to evolve our business. You will be joining the leadership team of a highly engaged and motivated HR team to develop our longer-term talent strategy, focusing our talent acquisition and development offer to deliver against that strategy.

Reporting into the Head of HR, the Regional Head of Talent & Development – Australia, is accountable for the delivery of the end-to-end talent strategy; including leadership of the Talent Acquisition team, leveraging and local delivery of Global Talent practices and offerings and regional development strategies across engagement, leader capability and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.

Core Responsibilities

  • Talent Acquisition Leadership

  • Actively lead the Talent Acquisition team to deliver against the talent plan.

  • Partner closely across the Australia HR team to integrate the talent plan into the overall approach across the employee lifecycle.

  • Talent Management

  • Partner with the Head of HR Australia deliver the regional talent strategy that accelerates the achievement of the long-term business strategy, including execution succession planning.

  • Develop strategies to identify the capabilities critical to the business strategy and develop the roadmap to ensure the Australian business has sustainable access to these capabilities. This will include consideration of talent attraction, talent assessment, organization design and development, succession planning and crew (employee) engagement.

  • Org Development
  • Supporting the Australian Executive Team with the creation and execution of fit-for-purpose engagement strategies

  • Play the role of the regional Diversity, Equity and Inclusion lead, supporting the executive-led DEI council and the very active Crew (employee) reference groups to continue to evolve Inclusion at VIA

  • Assess and design fit-for-purpose learning strategy for the region, leveraging global offers where appropriate.

  • Lead and consult on all aspects of Organisational Change.

  • Measure the effectiveness of the talent plan and DEI activity and form recommendations accordingly.

Qualifications

  • A highly motivated individual who can drive business outcomes through talent, development and engagement levers.

  • Demonstrated experience in the data-driven design and practical implementation of high impact strategies – this experience may have been gained through Human Resources, Corporate Strategy or Management Consulting.

  • An experienced and innovative leader who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, with an exceptional track record of managing and developing effective teams.

  • Act as a true, collaborative partner and work with business and functional leaders to drive talent strategies that engage and retain our best leaders and team members as we continue to grow.

  • Strong business partner background driving: business results, organisational design and effectiveness, performance management, executive coaching, and development initiatives.

  • Data-driven, decision-maker and pragmatic problem solver who can find root causes of issues and gain leadership support to address them.

Specialisations that would make an impact

  • Undergraduate degree in a related field is preferred. Post-Graduate degree and/or professional certification such as MBA would be highly regarded.

  • Proven ability to manage priorities among multiple stakeholders and multitask or re-prioritize as needed in a dynamic environment.

  • Proven track record in leading, planning and executing upon global initiatives in evolving environments.
