  Job description:
• This position, as a senior member of the Government Finance and Accounting Branch, will take a lead role in the provision of financial management, accounting, budgeting and reporting services.

  This includes formulating and providing high level policy advice on accounting standards, financial management reform and financial legislation for the general government sector.

  The Assistant Director oversees the financial and budget reporting for Treasury and Finance General and will provide strong support to the Director, Government Finance and Accounting Branch through the effective day to day management of the activities and responsibilities of the Branch.

Duties:

This position, as a senior member of the Government Finance and Accounting Branch, will take a lead role in the provision of financial management, accounting, budgeting and reporting services.

In the context of the selection criteria, to be successful in the position applicants will have:

• demonstrated experience and qualifications in accounting and financial management including a proven ability to understand complex issues and develop solutions;

- a very high level of verbal and written communication skills and proven networking, stakeholder management and negotiation skills;
- a very high level of people and output management skills.

Highly Desirable Requirements:

Completion of relevant tertiary or industry qualifications, and/or professional affiliation.
