Job Overview:

As a Principal Consultant, you will be responsible for leading end to end Data & Analytics projects that involve Data Migration, Data Integration, Data Modelling, and Reporting. 

As a Microsoft stack focused Data Consultant, your role will require you to understand customer requirements, design a complete solution leveraging Microsoft Fabric and/or Azure Databricks in a customer’s new or existing Azure environment. 

Your role will require you to lead a technical team including Business Analysts, Data Engineers and BI/Analytics developers, lead stakeholder communication, architect the required solutions, spearhead the development of data pipelines with more junior team-members, build semantic models to support reporting, and test and deploy the end-to-end solution. You will also champion and follow development and DevOps best practices such as CI/CD and be proficient in using code management tools such GitHub. 
 

Your job duties will include: 
 

  • Customer and internal stakeholder management.
  • Working as an individual contributor or leading a team of Data Engineers and/or BI Developers on projects. 
  • Architecting solutions and Development in technologies such as Microsoft Fabric, Microsoft Azure, and Microsoft Power BI. 
  • Develop, maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated releases.
  • Document solutions as per best practices. 
  • Train both internal and customer stakeholders.
  • Test and deploy the end-to-end solution. 

To be successful in this role, you will need to have: 
 

  • Proven experience in stakeholder management, leading Data & Analytics projects, and teams.
  • Proven experience in designing and building Microsoft Azure based Data & Analytics solutions (at least 5 years’ experience). 
  • Proven experience in Data/Semantic Modelling using one of these techniques: Kimball or Inmon. 
  • Proven experience designing and building solutions using Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse and Azure Data Lake.
  • Strong experience with SQL, Python, Pyspark. 
  • Proven experience working with Git and CI/CD tooling.

Tools or Technology Experience:

  • Mandatory
  • Database/Data Lake: T-SQL and Spark on Azure
  • ELT Tools: Azure Data Factory / Synapse Pipelines
  • Reporting: Microsoft Power BI
  • Code Management: GitHub or Azure Repos
  • CI/CD: Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions
  • Good to have: Microsoft Fabric (including certification), Azure Fundamentals.
