As Chief Risk Officer, you will play a pivotal role in driving strategic risk governance initiatives across the Department of Health with a strong focus on:

  • Strategic Risk Leadership: lead the development of forward-thinking strategies that proactively identify and mitigate risks, ensuring the highest level of safety and resilience in our operations.
  • Cutting-Edge Risk Frameworks: Lead the evolution of our Risk Management Framework, leveraging contemporary practices and technologies to create a dynamic and adaptable approach to risk management.
  • Operational Excellence: Implement operational risk management processes that not only meet regulatory standards but also foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within our workforce.
  • Cultural Transformation: Champion a positive risk culture by driving awareness, training, and engagement initiatives that empower our staff to embrace risk as an opportunity for growth and progress.

As key advisor to the Secretary and senior executives, you will offer strategic guidance on issues of significant impact. Your ability to navigate complex issues with discretion and professionalism will be paramount, as you proficiently uphold the interests of the Department across diverse platforms.

Collaboration will be central to your role as you work to build strong relationships with stakeholders. By fostering effective partnerships, you'll implement risk governance practices that enhance organisational resilience and promote a culture of proactive risk management.

This involves setting high standards, providing mentorship, and fostering an environment where innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement are valued and encouraged.

The role is a Senior Executive office for a contract period of 5 years and offers an attractive remuneration package, which incorporates salary ranging from $209,001 to $229,798 p.a. plus 11% superannuation and private use of a fully maintained vehicle.
