The Opportunity

As a Senior Transport Planner you'll lead planning studies to develop integrated transport solutions for priority transport initiatives and prepare business cases incorporating complex analysis, including economic, social and environmental analysis for funding consideration.

You'll collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders to deliver expert transport planning advice and contribute to the achievement of project goals. This includes working collaboratively and in consultation with a broad range of agency, state and national stakeholders, community groups and the public.

The successful candidate will demonstrate well-developed interpersonal skills to successfully engage stakeholders and manage relationships, along with a comprehensive understanding of the challenges and opportunities impacting on the State's transport system.

The successful candidate will also demonstrate:

  • Proven ability to engage stakeholders and negotiate complex issues.
  • Experience in managing change initiatives aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in preparing high-level technical reports and advice with recommendations.
  • Commitment to fostering a culture of collaboration, integrity, and diversity.
  • Experience and motivation for innovation and driving positive change in transport.

Requirements

Qualifications in Engineering, Transport Planning or a related discipline are essential.

Special Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to provide a National Police Check (NPC) prior to employment with the Department for Infrastructure and Transport which must be renewed every three years.

Some out of hours and weekend work along with intra/interstate travel may be required.

Remuneration

PO4 - $109,060 to $118,690 per annum
