The Role

Reporting to the Director Community Wellbeing, the newly createdStrategic Projects and Programs Coordinator role will focus ondesigning, managing and executing strategic and operationalinitiatives across the Community Wellbeing Directorate. No two dayswill be the same in this wonderfully varied role.
Examples of the role’s focus areas include developingmechanisms for capturing and using data, measuring and evaluatingthe impact of our work, keeping abreast of sector policy change andinnovation, representing Council on advisory groups and committees,and developing relationships with academic institutions. Theposition is responsible for overseeing the development andmonitoring of Council’s Connected Communities Strategy andAction Plan.
The Strategic Projects and Programs Coordinator plays anintegral role in forging relationships and partnerships with arange of highly engaged stakeholders across the sector, and issupported in this role by one direct report. The position willcontinue to build innovative partnerships, such as the WhittleseaCommunity Futures Partnership.
This unique senior position provides exposure to challenging andrewarding opportunities across the breadth of the local governmentcommunity services sector. You will collaborate closely with theCommunity Wellbeing leadership team and provide support for majorprojects in their respective areas.
About you
You will come to the role withexceptional project management skills, creative thinking and asolution-focussed approach, together with a strong background incommunity services, ideally in local government.
You will be adept at identifying new opportunities and it issecond nature for you to seek the ‘why?’ in all thatyou do.
You are political acument and ability to build and enhance arange of sustainable relationships with internal and externalstakeholders will be key to your success.
The role will be varied, fast-paced and dynamic, so you willneed to be agile yet structured, comfortable working throughambiguity and thrive on delivering a diverse range of projects.
A genuine interest and commitment to delivering better socialoutcomes for people is essential as well as demonstrated workingknowledge in the community services sector.
