What you will do

At Volvo Group Australia you will contribute to the transformation of our company, the transport industry and society at large. Volvo Group Australia manages the manufacturing, distribution and operation of well-known brands such as Volvo Trucks, Mack Trucks, UD Trucks, Volvo Bus, Volvo Penta, Volvo Construction Equipment and Volvo Financial Services. As a Financial Accountant at Volvo Group Australia, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient execution of accounting and reporting activities to support our business operations. Reporting directly to the Chief Accountant, you will be responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting in compliance with local GAAP and International Financial Reporting Standards. 

Your responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Prepare and review financial reports for Volvo Group Australia, adhering to closing schedules communicated by the group. 
  • Utilise Volvo Group Consolidated reporting system for processing weekly and monthly sales and inventory reports. 
  • Conduct detailed analysis of the general ledger, identifying and resolving any issues or anomalies. 
  • Collaborate closely with Business Controllers to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. 
  • Support annual audits and stock take processes in coordination with external auditors and internal stakeholders. 
  • Manage demo vehicles inventory and financial reporting to facilitate informed business decision-making. 
  • Identify and implement procedures to enhance month-end reporting processes for efficiency and internal controls.

Working as part of a larger Finance team, you’ll be exposed to the financial activities of our three brands; Volvo Trucks, Mack, and UD. Who are you?

Do you dream big? We do too, and we are excited to grow together. In this role, you will bring: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce or Business with a major in accounting or equivalent. 
  • Membership of CPA/ICAA 
  • Previous accounting experience in a commercial environment particularly in month end activities.. 
  • Proficiency in SAP 
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel. 
  • Strong analytical and communication skills. 
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage workflow with minimal supervision.
