The Opportunity

Reporting to our General Manager, you will oversee the operations of transfer stations and landfills within NSW ensuring operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in waste management or a similar highly regulated industry, with proven leadership skills and a commitment to environmental sustainability.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of site managers, sales, engineers and operational staff.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service delivery.
  • Ensure all transfer stations and landfills comply with environmental regulations and company policies.
  • Lead and oversee projects related to the development and enhancement of transfer stations and landfills.
  • Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project completion on time and within budget.
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers, government, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders.
  • Develop initiatives to enhance recycling and reduce landfill waste.
  • Ensure a safe working environment for all employees by enforcing health and safety regulations.

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Prior experience in waste management or Oil and Gas or Mining is desirable.
  • Proven track record of managing multiple facilities and leading large teams.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to develop and manage budgets, analyse financial data, and make strategic decisions.
