And so, our Innovation team are on the hunt for an exceptionally talented and experienced team player to join the team as Global Product Innovation Manager.
What is the role
Reporting to the Global Head of Product Innovation, this role will work collaboratively to manage the day-to-day operations and projects of the innovation team, championing the NPD process from ideation to launch, ensuring that products continue to meet consumer needs.
You will lead a team of 4 product managers/ specialists, architecting effective team processes that promote collaboration, efficiency and communication to deliver against key deadlines. You will provide support and expertise, fostering a harmonious and innovative environment that enables the team to thrive.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead the end-to-end project management of NPD pipeline from conception to distribution on speciality projects.
- Assist in establishing the product’s vision by providing research and insights on the market and consumer to appraise ideas for market viability
- Manage NPD process from beginning to end
- Work together with cross-functional teams and suppliers to build out detailed project plans
- Assist with costings, liaising with manufacturers to provide quotations lead-times and minimum order quantities
- Leading discussions between vendors and the internal cross functional team to ensure that all critical milestones are met
- Lead day to day management of supplier relationships and travel regulary to visit them
- Maintain excellent relationship with suppliers, working to understand their goals, market conditions, challenges, competitive activities and possible unique opportunities.
- Manage workflows of the NPD team including delegation
- Drive team performance through regular, systematic, and collaborative communication including WIPS and team meetings
- Motivate the team through conducting performance appraisals, investigate training requirements and contribute to their overall development through coaching and mentorship
- Leverage internal capabilities to achieve NPD targets
- Execute and complete tenders to both current and new CMs, based on agreed proposals
The ideal candidate
You have 5+ years’ experience working within product development across beauty and/or cosmetics categories backed by demonstrated knowledge of delivering NPD from concept to launch, on time and within budget. You have experience working with key suppliers and manufacturers, ideally with strong relationships already established.
You are passionate about developing effective workflows and teams, with tact for fostering environment that enables innovation and creativity to thrive. You have a deep understanding of our core customer and categories, and will bring a strategic, yet process driven and innovative approach which enables you to achieve outcomes and deliver results.
You are an astute collaborator and are confident in communicating plans, strategies and translating these into commercial successes. You are an influential negotiator and able to take all levels of people, including senior leaders and directors on the journey. Your team members would describe you as a passionate leader, who empowers those around them, drives innovation and celebrates the success of their team.
