Guaranteed Purchase Loan Accountant, Fostoria, OH (or surrounding areas)
We’re looking for someone to join our accounting and operations team A willingness to learn is necessary to fill this specialty role. Basic knowledge of accounting or loan accounting concepts and general accounting experience is preferred.

Responsibilities
1. Run an amortization review process, at least twice a month, to identify and clear potential payment and/or past dues by working with originators, brokers, and others.
2. Reviews loan documents to determine if payments received and/or interest rates agree with the loan documentation.
3. Utilize available resources to follow up on and correct any discrepancies in loan documentation.
4. Book guaranteed purchases, make data corrections, and perform maintenance and process other related transactions in our ACBS loan accounting system.
5. Review our GP summary and other information for discrepancies and work with others to resolve those discrepancies and sub sequently update ACBS to reflect the corrections.
6. Handle cost of funds (direct note rate) corrections with our Funding Bank.
7. Provide ongoing quality internal and external customer service.
8. Work collaboratively with Operations, originators, brokers, our Funding Bank, guarantors, and others
9. Follow Association policies and manuals and helps to maintain the GP manual.
10. Complete training programs as organized and/or approved by AgCredit.
11. As time permits, assist with other duties within the Accounting/Operations and Loan Operations departments, or other duties as assigned by the Controller or CFO.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree and one to three years of loan processing or accounting experience within the banking industry with a willingness to learn.
- Ability to work independently and effectively with a diverse group of people under general supervision.
- Demo nstrates attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Use of discretionary judgment in making decisions and problem solving.
- Knowledge or ability to learn within Excel, ACBS (and other loan accounting systems), PeopleSoft (general ledger), and other software.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Works independently under supervisory direction as well as work in a team atmosphere.
- The ability and willingness to travel to lending offices, AgFirst Farm Credit Bank and other locations for training. Some overnight travel may be expected.

- Monday to Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm
- Open to a hybrid schedule
