Primary Objective

The Sales Engineer at ACLE Services plays a pivotal role in driving revenue growth by leveraging their technical expertise to support the sales team in promoting and selling in-front-of-meter grid scale solar farm and battery energy storage(BESS) solutions. This role involves collaborating closely with the Head of Business Development to understand client needs, deliver compelling technical presentations, and facilitate the successful conversion of leads into sales by demonstrating a deep understanding of both the technical and commercial aspects of solar and BESS energy projects.

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Collaborate with the Head of Business Development to identify potential clients and develop effective strategies for engaging with them.
  • Utilise technical knowledge to conduct in-depth discussions with clients, understanding their solar energy and BESS requirements, and offering tailored solutions.
  • Leverage technical expertise to create detailed project proposals and presentations, emphasising the technical aspects and benefits of ACLE Services' offerings.
  • Work closely with the engineering team to design and customise in-front-of-meter grid scale solar and BESS (battery energy storage system) energy solutions according to client specifications, demonstrating an understanding of engineering principles and construction practices.
  • Organise tendering documents for the ACLE accredited subcontractors and evaluate submitted proposals with the Head of Business Development to prepare the final submission to our clients.
  • Assist in negotiating contracts and agreements with clients, ensuring alignment with their technical requirements and expectations.
  • Provide pre-sale technical support to the sales team, including addressing technical inquiries, conducting assessments, and recommending appropriate solutions.
  • Conduct visits alongside the engineering team to gain firsthand insights into project requirements and challenges, enhancing the ability to effectively communicate technical details to clients.
  • Utilise practical expertise to assess project feasibility and identify potential technical challenges, providing proactive solutions to clients.
  • Assist clients in navigating regulatory and permitting processes related to solar and BESS energy projects, offering guidance and expertise to facilitate project approval.
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess suitability for solar and BESS installations, considering factors such as terrain, sunlight exposure, and environmental impact.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory requirements related to solar energy and BESS projects to provide informed recommendations to clients.
  • Attend industry events, conferences, and seminars to expand product knowledge, network with potential clients, and stay abreast of market developments.

Qualifications & Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field.
  • Proven experience in technical sales, preferably within the solar energy or renewable energy industry.
  • Strong understanding of solar and BESS farm systems, components, and related technologies.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively convey technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced sales environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to address client needs creatively.
  • Master's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Previous experience in designing and customising solar energy and BESS solutions.
  • Familiarity with the regulatory and permitting processes related to solar farm and BESS projects.
  • Experience in preparing detailed technical documentation and project proposals.
  • Technical Expertise: Possess a deep understanding of solar farm and BESS technologies and their applications.
  • Sound Time Mangement: Ability to meet stringent deadlines and perform under pressure
  • Juggle Multiple Bids: Effectively manage and work on several bids at the same time.
  • Develop a Workplan: Create a structured plan to efficiently produce complex bid responses.
  • Proactive Attitude: Takes initiative to upskill oneself and seek help from subject matter experts to meet challenges and the sales team’s objectives
  • Customer Focus: Dedication to understanding and fulfilling customer needs and building strong client relationships.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to adjust strategies based on evolving market trends and client preferences.
  • Team Collaboration: Willingness to work closely with the sales team and engineering department to achieve common goals.
  • Problem Solving: Capability to identify and address technical challenges and develop innovative solutions.
