The Role

Reporting into the GM Commercial Finance, the Finance Analyst is primarily responsible for communicating financial performance of various business units, providing insight into current business performance and assisting in delivery of the business unit’s financial plan. 

You will work across the broader business, assisting with the provision of analytical insights into other business units, including the opportunity to learn and deploy financial modelling skills across various business initiatives.

Duties will include, but not be limited to:-

  • Proactive analysis and reporting that delivers improved understanding of key business indicators and key drivers of value as well as identify opportunities
  • Work collaboratively to formulate and execute targeted strategies based on detailed analysis
  • Financial modelling using Excel to analyse financial data and trends to provide insights and recommendations to senior members of the business
  • Manage the monthly and quarterly re-forecasting process, identifying areas for business improvement
  • Collaborate with various business departments to align on financial goals and identify cost saving opportunities
  • Prepare monthly financial reporting and presentation packs for senior stakeholders that clearly communicates the companies performance against budget including meaningful and insightful variance analysis commentary
  • Undertake detailed scenario modelling, using a range of different assumptions to support strategic decision making
  • Support key members of the Marketing and Procurement team in reporting on future campaign forecasting, post campaign reviews and breakeven analysis

Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience in Financial Analysis role in commerce, or a first mover from External Audit, Business Services, or Corporate Finance in Big 4
  • Experience using MS Dynamics 365 and FP&A planning tools, highly desirable
  • Strong Excel and financial modelling skills
  • Highly numerate, have strong attention to detail, and exceptional data interpretation skills
  • You know how to analyse and interpret data, and have a proven track record of interpreting business performance using available data
  • Advanced analytical, problem solving and critical reasoning skills
  • Ability to extract relevant trend information from multiple data sources
  • Ability to take complex information and present in an uncomplicated, simple way
  • Positive energy, and passion for supporting the business team to deliver strong business outcomes quickly
  • Strong organisational and time management skills and the ability to prioritise responsibilities to meet strict deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
