We are looking for a team player that enjoys an exciting, fast paced, and growing work environment. As a Project Officer in Health Capital Division, you will contribute to system-level heath service infrastructure planning, policy, and governance through projects and activities which support the delivery of enhanced public health infrastructure for the Queensland community. You will adopt best practice project management methodologies and compliance with all Queensland Health planning and engagement activities linked to service development, capital works and asset management. This is a long-term, Fixed-Term Temporary Contract until January 2029, Full-Time Hours based in Townsville.

The role 
The key responsibilities of the Project Officer role include:
• Providing critical advice and administrative support to program and senior management for the successful delivery of Infrastructure, Planning and Delivery technical assurance support across the delivery of health capital infrastructure including activities such as secretariat support managing confidential and coordination of program meetings and logistics.
• Assisting in managing reporting, correspondence, and analysis of financial information, as well as assist in preparing reports, submissions, briefing notes, ministerial correspondence and policy documentation as required and to inform program decision making. 
• Working collaboratively within a team to develop, implement, and maintain adequate policy, processes, systems and internal controls to ensure effective governance and compliance with internal and external requirements.
• Ensuring projects and activities are managed in accordance with the best practice guidelines and Queensland Health's formal project management approach to ensure consistent and quality outcomes are achieved.

The successful person
To be successful in the role you will have:
• Proven high-level organisational skills with well-developed communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills. With the ability to manage competing priorities and effectively deliver timely, accurate and high-quality work.
• Demonstrated experience in preparing, monitoring, and reporting on program/project budgets and understanding of the pressures and constraints. 
• Demonstrated ability and experience in identifying and analysing problems, developing, and implementing remedial strategies and exercising initiative and responsibility.
• Proven experience and high-level skill in building successful relationships with internal and external stakeholders in a complex and changing environment.
• Whilst not mandatory, a relevant qualification in project support will be highly regarded with the ability to travel to different locations depending on project and team requirements.
