Systems Assurance Manager

The ACEREZ consortium, which includes the ACCIONA COBRA Joint Venture (ACJV), has been appointed Preferred Proponent to design and construct the transmission line infrastructure for the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (CWO REZ), as part of Australia’s energy transition, outlined in the NSW Electricity Infrastructure Roadmap.
The new transmission infrastructure, which will combine high-capacity transmission lines, energy hubs and related infrastructure, will enable generators such as solar and wind farms and energy storage providers in the CWO REZ to connect to the electricity grid, providing a reliable supply of clean, affordable electricity for households and businesses across NSW while helping to meet the state’s newly legislated Net Zero targets.

Our Central-West Orana project is currently seeking a Systems Assurance Manager to share their expertise and work within our growing team. You will take charge of implementing and managing systems engineering processes, ensuring thorough control over the project's lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive adoption of Systems Engineering Principles throughout project lifecycle.
- Advocate for the use of Systems Engineering tools and techniques.
- Supervise the implementation of requirements management database and ensure timely delivery of requirements.
- Conduct audits on requirement compliance status.
- Review systems assurance deliverables from design team and suppliers.
- Lead system and safety assurance activities.
- Manage SiD register and control transfer process.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to verify technical requirements.
- Proactively identify and address deficiencies for continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with project stakeholders and independent assessors to ensure functionality, safety, and reliability.
- Proven track record in infrastructure projects.
- Demonstrated proficiency in engineering safety management processes, including hazard identification, risk assessment, and derivation of safety requirements.
- Strong background in systems engineering, systems management, and software configuration.
- Extensive experience in requirements management and the systems engineering lifecycle.
- Experience with Quality Assurance Systems and adeptness in implementing Assurance Systems within the software stream.
- Hands-on experience in applying engineering safety throughout system development lifecycles.
- Ability to interpret and apply relevant systems, safety, and reliability engineering and assurance processes, standards, and best practices.
- Experience in leading or guiding multiple/large project teams in system safety or RAM processes.
- Excellent team management skills.
Minimum Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum of 8 years' experience in Systems Engineering and Assurance within multidisciplinary infrastructure projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
- Familiarity with the implementation of CENELEC EN50126, EN50128 & EN50129, and IEC 15288 standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, SharePoint, and PowerBI).
- Exceptional written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Highly self-motivated and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to drive teams towards effective solutions.
- Demonstrated experience in change control management tools and processes.
Currently, this position is located in our project office in Sydney CBD, with occasional site visits. However, once the project is fully operational, it will transition to a roster-based arrangement.
