About the role:

The Mining Engineering team is currently seeking a Production Engineer to join the team.


Reporting to the Senior Engineer Mining, you will be responsible for providing all site mining engineering aspects including direction to set up the mine's development activity, implementation of the weekly schedule, and facilitating its execution.

Contribute to shaping practical and productive schedules for load and haul activities, as well as drill and blast operations.

Duties:

  • Generate mine designs including ramps, haul roads and dumps/stockpiles
  • Develop mine backfill and haulage strategies to ensure safe and efficient production
  • Optimise the weekly and monthly schedules to safely meet production targets
  • Provide guidance and collaborate with stakeholders to enable safe delivery of the plan
  • Ensure that risks to plan are proactively identified, escalated, and controlled.

Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in mining engineering or mining science (or similar)
  • Demonstrated experience with mine design software (e.g. Vulcan & Alastri)
  • Excellent people skills; able to influence and communicate effectively
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan, schedule, organise and establish work.
  • Capability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team
