Spa Practitioner

Position: S PA PRACTITIONER

Position Summary:
The Spa Practitioner will have a passion for excellence in guest service and a strong background in delivering exceptional spa experiences. They will be expected to function within a team environment and provide a world-class experience for our guests through a variety of treatments.

Wages: $30.40-$33.85/hour

Job Duties:

1. Demonstrate desired service behaviors in accordance with Relais and Chateaux expectations.
2. Demonstrate extensive knowledge of services and products.
3. Responsible for client’s comfort and meeting their needs.
4. Meet and greet each client in a friendly, professional manner.
5. Maintain proper use of equipment and products.
6. Ensure all areas of spa are clean and sanitized.
7. Start and finish all spa treatments on time.
8. Participate in treatment training and skill development throughout the season.
9. Recommend appropriate home care and retail items with all clients.
10. Ensure treatment and change rooms are fully stocked daily.
11. Follow spa opening and closing procedures.
12. Abide by treatment protocols and maintain consistency.
13. Wear spa uniform and name tag when on shift.
14. Speak quietly (“spa voice”) within all spa areas.
15. Ensure effective working relationships and clear communication is maintained with all colleagues and departments.
16. Ensure that all equipment, fixtures, and furniture of the department are kept in the best repair possible and are used in a safe and proper manner in coordination with the Maintenance Manager.

Qualifications:

1. Certificate of completion in recognized Massage and/or Esthetics Spa Practitioner program required.
2. Minimum (1) year of experience as a spa practitioner or esthetician.
3. Thorough understanding of the operations of the spa; experience in a live-in resort environment is preferred.
4. High School Diploma required. Any additional education or experience in spa, health and wellness, hospitality or related fields would be an asset.
5. Must be fluent in English, second language an asset.
6. First Aid & AED certificates are an asset.

7. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.

Resort Life:

• Shift work is required; comprised of 10 – 20 working days and 4 non-working days, subject to change during peak season; employees are expected to be flexible in their scheduling to meet the needs of the business.
• Shift work may include evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Staff are required to leave the resort on their scheduled non-working days and are responsible for securing accommodation and further transportation thereafter.
• Accommodation, meals, water taxi transportation and staff amenities are provided while at the resort, along with competitive salary and benefit package.

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):
Physically demanding tasks in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
Repetitive tasks, handling heavy loads, combination of sitting, walking, standing for extended periods of time, bending, crouching, kneeling.

Visa Requirements:
Applicant must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
