The Principal Management Accountant will support the financial and budgetary management process for the client group of the role. This role includes the provision of budget development, monitoring and reporting services, contribution to the development of financial management improvement strategies, financial modelling, cost benefit analysis and support of strategic projects.

 **Please note, Due to a MOG this role is in the Department of Child Safety, Seniors and Disability Services not The Department of Treaty, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships, Communities and the Arts**

The Principal Management Accountant's key responsibilities are:
• Provide high level assistance to your manager in development of the budget for your client group, including assisting in the preparation of strategic and mid-year review submissions.
• Provide input into the Service Delivery Statement and other State budget papers, Estimates Committee processes, Questions on Notice and other briefings relevant for the Program.
• Assist in the development and analysis of budgetary and financial performance including the on-going monitoring, reviewing and reporting of the financial activities for the client group.
• Supervise the preparation of annual budgetary guidelines, timetables and other budget documents and provide support and advice as required to clients.
• Undertake continuous refinement of analysis and reporting methods designed to monitor the client group's financial and budgetary position.
• Coordinate the financial management activities of cash flows and forecasts and contribute to the timely production of accurate internal financial management reports and other financial information as required.
• Provide independent analytical reviews, forecasts and analysis of financial performance and performance indicators and provide advice regarding budgetary and financial issues.
• Provide financial reports to Queensland Treasury and other government departments as required.
• Liaise, consult and provide high level advice and assistance on budget-related issues to the Manager, Chief Finance Officer, senior management and a range of other clients across the department.
