Sydney Water have partnered with Delivering 4 Customers (D4C) to deliver design, construct, maintenance, and facilities management services as part of the P4S program in Sydney Water's Southern Region of Sydney. D4C is a consortium comprising of John Holland, Service Stream, and WSP. We will provide long-term employment opportunities to diversify the skills of the people of the Southern Region of Sydney as well as creating pathways to enter the water industry.
D4C is seeking a Project Engineer - MPM to join their expanding team to deliver excellence in water projects across the Southern Region.
What this role will entail?Provide onsite engineering services, technical support, project management/documentation, and onsite construction support to ensure successful delivery of high-volume smaller projects including meeting time, quality, and budget objectives. Typically, these projects will be of low complexity, low risk, and nil or minimal design and can be located across the South Region.
As a Project Engineer- MPM, you'll be leading a program of works. Your day-to-day tasks will include but are not limited to:
- Ensure compliance of the works with technical specifications, applicable legislation, approvals, and standards and D4C SQE Risk Management process.
- Conduct and administer overall job planning, costing, and programming including short range and intermediate activities for construction projects for approval by the Minor works Lead and/or Regional Maintenance and FM Lead.
- Prepare job/cost plans for projects and submit for review and approval.
- Prepare and maintain all project documentation as required by D4C and Sydney Water.
- Input information and undertake minor design on-site and monitor and recommend changes to design details to increase the ease of construction.
- Exercise professional judgment in resolving engineering issues, i.e. construction methods, design, engineering procedures, etc.
- Demonstrate financial management skills including demonstrated behavior in preparing costs, reducing costs, forecasting, and meeting budgets.
- Verify subcontractors' claims and variations.
- Undertake cost controlling and estimating as required by the Minor Works Lead.
- Tertiary qualification - Diploma or bachelor's degree in engineering, Science, Building Construction, Construction Management, or equivalent.
- Minimum 3-5 years' engineering experience.
- Construction management and specific technical skills base relevant to program of work and discipline area.
- Wide level of planning, development, and review of projects.
- White card.
- Current Drivers Licence.
