In this key role in the ResMed Tax Operations team reporting to the Senior Manager, Tax Operations. Tax Operations manages the quarter end close, tax accounting and income tax reporting around the world. In this role, you will have overall responsibility for managing the preparation and review of all APAC income tax provision workstreams, and partner closely with our outside global service providers to manage all APAC income (direct) tax compliance and risk activities. You will have the opportunity to adapt the existing process to ensure we are focused on accuracy, completeness, and timeliness with all in highly visible work products. You will partner closely with other members of the Tax Team and collaborate on business facing activities such as interviews for R&D documentation, transfer pricing and intercompany transactions and related documentation.

This role is responsible for the management of all aspects of income tax accounting, tax reporting and assisting on income tax audit management for all ResMed APAC activities including:
- Manage accounting for corporate income taxes (based on US GAAP) related to all ResMed business activities in the APAC region. This includes preparation and review of income tax packages prepared by APAC Accounting and outside service providers.
- Provide material input into the global tax provision calculation, with key focus on Australia and Singapore in the region.
- Management and review of income (direct) tax compliance including workpapers, tax returns, estimated payments and extensions.
- Assistance, as needed, with Australian indirect tax filings and payments.
- Assistance with the Tax Counsel team to manage ResMed’s compliance with the Australian Top 100 Program.
- Assistance to the Tax Counsel Team on income tax audit management including management of deliverables due with any APAC income tax audits, reviews, and all interaction with tax authorities.
Other key activities related to the overall role include:
- Provide analysis and recommendations regarding potential tax reserves as required under US GAAP.
- Manage the process for the preparation and review of income tax calculations for statutory financial statements.
- Oversee and enforce certain income tax key controls - SOX 404.
- Assist the Tax Counsel team with research and documentation of the impacts of changing tax legislation, as required from time to time.
- Collaborate with the Tax Counsel team, as needed, on mergers and acquisition integration, new business model integration and other special projects.
- Evaluate APAC direct tax processes and drive continuous improvement of processes and risk management.
- You will have outside resources to get all these activities done and your job will include managing tax staff and managing relationships with professional service firms, to ensure alignment with the budget and timely completion.
- Build cross-functional relationships by communicating with various departments and individuals within the organization to gain a solid understanding of the business operations and functions and their impact on tax.
Let's talk about you:
- 8+ years of technical experience in APAC corporate income taxation – blend of accounting firm and corporate helpful.
- Business degree – preference for degree in Accounting.
- CA, CPA or similar designation preferred.
- Effective communication with global stakeholders.
- Project management and organization skills are essential.
- Works in a hybrid remote/office environment, closely interacting with an international team.
- Some travel required (approximately 10% around APAC as needed on projects/audits and to the US periodically for team meetings).
